At the foot of Caesar’s Camp, the site of a Roman settlement near Laudun, is a vineyard that is testimony to two thousand years of history shared between man and vines. Abandoned at
the end of the 19th century, victim of over-production and divisions for sharing within families, the vineyard of the Clos de Taman owes its rebirth to a handful of Laudun and Chusclan
wine-growers sharing the rent of this land since 1999. |
At this time, the Clos de Taman became a virtual laboratory, enabling study of plant grafting, cloning and the whole manner and density of planting. The objective was to determine how to improve the principal varieties of grape of the Côtes du Rhone to enable them to deliver their fullest quality.
The efforts made by the Laudun & Chusclan Vignerons has been rewarded by the vintage produced from these grapes. Destined to meet the satisfaction of wine-lovers, the Clos de Taman has a full-aroma, fruity notes and moderate tannin.
